For those who are getting to know me, I have 26 years of teaching experience with credentials in Reading, English, Special Education, ESL, Curriculum, Computer Applications & Business.
I enjoy teaching, because it gives me a reason to keep learning. Please check back during the year, to see what we are working on.
This year, I will be teaching BUSIM and Computer Science.
Resources & Materials for Class:
Students should be prepared for in-class lessons, discussion, collaboration, and independent work.
Assignments will be posted in Google Classroom. Some work may be done on the Chromebooks, but Microsoft Suite practice must be completed on a PC.
Students are encouraged to have a small binder/folder, usb jump drive, and ear buds as supplies for these classes.
Student Tutoring is available in my room on Tues & Thurs:
Other times are available, if scheduled with me.
UIL teams should use tutoring times to prepare for competitions. Attending practices, using study materials will be a factor in qualifying for the Computer Applications and Computer Science UIL teams.
If you have schedule conflicts with other school activities, let me know.
Phone (254) 456-2523
Students will use Microsoft Suite to create documents, presentations, worksheets, and databases suitable for coursework, professional purposes, and personal use.
This is an advanced technology course. Students should have completed BUSIM prior to enrolling in this course.
This course uses the Code.org Principles curriculum.
We are off to a great start. Week One, and ten students have signed up to be on the team. An interest meeting will be held next week. Students will suggest project ideas, form groups, and set work schedules. The goal is to have 3-4 projects started in September. This year, we will stick to deadlines. Each group will complete shooting by Thanksgiving break. They will assemble and edit projects in December. When we return in January, there will be a final review and the projects will be submitted.
The students who commit to one of the teams are involved in multiple extracurricular activities. They will be working before and after school, during study hall, and sometimes on personal time. So, your support and understanding is appreciated.
Our first year, we made it to semi-finals. I anticipate great things this year. Two of the groups have been planning their projects since last year! Lets go Hornets!
