Mrs. Daniel's class syllabus for 6th-grade Math & 6th-grade Science
Course Objectives: Math

The purpose of this course is to provide an understanding of 6th-grade mathematics based on the Texas State Standards for 6th-grade Math.  Students will study the curriculum using Go Math, IXl, and a variety of other resources to increase their math skills and to become algebra-ready. 

Upon completing this course, the student will be able to: 

Successfully demonstrate the necessary math skills as stated in the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for sixth-grade mathematics and Holland ISD.

Grading Policy: Grading will be based on a point system. Each student has a username and password used during the school registration process. Go to the Holland ISD webpage and click on the parent and student resources menu option.  Then, on the left side of the webpage is a menu of district quick links.  Choose the parent portal link and log in with the username and password from registration. Your student’s grades for each class will be posted there and may be checked at any time. Grades are updated as often as possible.

A. Dailywork 70%
B. Tests and Quizzes 30% 

Classroom Expectations:

Expectation #1: Be on Time and Come Prepared 

Expectation #2: Respect Yourself, Others and take care of our classroom
Expectation #3: Complete your assignments and turn them in.
Expectation #4 : Stay on Task 

Expectation #5: Use hand sanitizer often, wash hands, and keep a safe distance from others 

Expectation #6:  Follow the class-created/signed social contracts for the school year

The instructor reserves the right to make additions, changes, and deletions to the syllabus during the year
