Hi!  I am Megan White, and I am so excited to be your teacher!  PreK is my absolute favorite grade to teach!  Mrs. Makaila is our classroom teaching assistant and will be helping in our classroom.

I am a Belton HS graduate and a member of the Texas A&M Aggie class of 2006 with a degree in Health Education.  This will be my sixth year with PreK Hornets!

My family loves to take adventures, go to the beach, fish, play baseball, and play with our Irish Wolfhound, Duke!

Attendance

It is important for your child to come to school daily to fully participate and succeed academically, socially, and emotionally; however, due to the continued concern in regards to the pandemic, please do not send your child to school if they are sick.  Please refer to the Holland ISD policy for more details.  Thank you for doing your part to keep our littlest Hornets healthy.

Behavior Expectations

To encourage positive behavior in our classroom we need to teach students the classroom rules, routines, and procedures so they can learn how to self-regulate. Behavior is a skill that must be learned, just like learning how to tie your shoes or recite the alphabet is a skill that you learned when you were a child.  In Pre-K we will be continuously modeling and practicing this skill. Pre-K will use a ticket incentive behavior management system. Tickets can be redeemed in our class store.

Orange Ticket: They had a great & expected day

Purple Ticket: They had an outstanding & role model day

Yellow Ticket: A rule reminder card

Behavior/ticket color will be noted in the take home folders and/or communicated through Class DoJo.  See behavior expectations for further detail.

Change of Clothes

Please send a change of clothes in a labeled ziplock bag to be kept at school.  This will need to be updated as the seasons change. Include: shirt, shorts, underwear, and socks.

Nap Time

Students are encouraged to nap for one hour a day.  Nap mats are provided.

Please send a light blanket that will fit in their backpack.  Please wash the

blanket weekly.

Water

Please send a labeled water bottle daily.  We have access to refill the bottle as needed.  A covered top is recommended. Please wash this daily.

Class Pets

We have a rescue turtle named Love and a guinea pig named Bob. Please let us know if your child may have an allergy to any animals.
